First Sleep School’s “RPSGT Practice Exam” is modeled after the BRPT’s Exam blueprint and takes into account the most recent version of the AASM scoring manual, International Classification of Sleep Disorders version 3, and the AAST Technical Guidelines. We have specifically designed our practice exam to be partitioned into the 4 parts (by each domain) outlined in the BRPT Exam blueprint. Think of it as 4 domain-specific exams, one for each domain and their associated tasks as outlined by the BRPT. By structuring the study guide in this way, we believe that you will be able to better self-evaluate your preparedness in each of the separate domains, which allows you to then focus your studying in the areas where you may not have done as well as you hoped.
The scored range for the RPSGT exam is 200-500 with the minimum passing score of 350, which is 70% of the max score of 500. Therefore, your objective is to score at least 70% on each of the individual domain-specific sub-exams. Scores below 70% would suggest you still need review, and scores above 70% would suggest that you may meet the necessary competency in that area.
Although only the BRPT knows the exact type of questions on their exam, we attempted to create questions that we believe are similar in content type and proportional topic frequency to those that may be found on the BRPT RPSGT exam. To better simulate the real-life testing experience with the BRPT, we have also taken testing time into account. The actual RPSGT Exam with the BRPT consists of 175 questions and allows you 180 minutes to complete the exam. This means you will have to pace yourself at roughly 1 min, 2 sec. per question in order to answer all of the questions in time. Therefore, we have set time limits for each of the domain-specific exams to match this expectation. However, to make sure that you are able to complete our exams, we have added a 15 minute grace period to that “time-per-question” pacing. Therefore, when you complete the exam you should have at least 15 minutes of time remaining. If you have less than 15 minutes of time remaining at the time you answer the final question, you will also need to work on your pacing before taking the actual RPSGT exam.
After purchasing this Practice Exam, you will be given 1 month of continued access to the exam for continued review of your results.
As outlined by the RPSGT Exam blueprint, there will be 150 scoreable questions between all 4 domain exams. We have taken it even one step further to help you focus your self-evaluation by keeping the same proportion of questions for each domain and task as well. Here is the calculated breakdown of what you can expect with our Domain-specific Study Guide when you get the questions incorrect.

Unlike some of the other online practice exams, even after you complete the domain exam you will continue to have access during the access period for continued review of your results. PLUS, you may take the domain exam a second time to re-test yourself after reviewing the results and correct answers just to make sure that your readiness for the real exam is increasing. If you use the second attempts, you will notice that the questions remain the same, but the question order will be randomized.
At First Sleep School, we do not believe in luck! We believe in discipline, dedication, and determination to reach goals. A practice exam in another great tool for those resolved to pass that RPSGT exam. Let us agree with the BRPT in that, “However, performance on the practice exams cannot be considered predictive of performance on the actual exam.”
